Ford Ranger: Still the Quality Truck

Available in several trim levels that comprise of the XL, the STX, tee XLT, the SPORT, the FX4, and the FX4 Level II, the 2006 Ford Ranger is a compact pick up truck. This vehicle shows off a passenger capacity of three. For eighteen years, and still counting, the Ford Ranger has been dubbed and noted as the best selling compact pickup in the United States. The R.L. Polk and Company has given this vehicle the award for the highest ownership loyalty in five consecutive years. For this year, the 2006 Ford Ranger sports a more aggressive look coupled with a bolder and a more athletic appearance.

Auto enthusiasts loved the Ford Ranger upon its introduction and public debut in 1982. The Ford Motor Company introduced this pickup truck and the enthusiasts came flocking in. They were mostly after quality vehicles and the Ford Ranger was what they wanted. For years, the Ford Ranger has been crafted and sold with sporty and impressive looks that is just like the first Ford Ranger introduced more than a decade ago.

The present Ford Ranger holds design changes that include revised bumper colors, a horizontal grille insert, rugged fender flares, clear-lens parking lamps, new tail lamps, new fog lamps, a 9-inch Ford oval mounted on the grille and tailgate, and a Ranger windshield logo. It comes with a 2.3 liter engine with four cylinders. New color choices for this vehicle include screaming yellow clearcoat, torch red clearcoat, and redfire clearcoat metallic. Additional options for this vehicle include two 15-inch Alcoa forged aluminum wheels, body-color side moldings, as well as new packages. Its exterior motif holds equipment and features like an aggressive valance and power-dome hood structure as well as a nostril grille. These are very much consistent with the rest of the Ford truck lineup. The interior boasts of a sporty feel and functionality. The Ford Ranger has seats with sculpted bolster and seatbacks for comfort and support. There also are optional sport bucket seats, leather-trimmed seating surfaces as well as a steel wheel trimmed and wrapped in leather.

Great changes and upgrades were considered to be milestones for the Ford Ranger. Those that made waves included the 1965 use of the Ranger name as a styling package for the F-Series pickup trucks. For 1981, the plans for this vehicle model were unveiled and presented in an auto show. The following year, the Ford Ranger came rolling off the assembly line and into the streets. A year after driving its way to the market, the Ford Ranger's V6 makes it as Off-Road magazine's 4x4 Truck of the Year. It was also named Ranger 4x4 of the year by the 4-Wheel and Off-Road magazine in the year 1986. It also was selected as Pickup of the Year by the Truckin' magazine in 1993. Come 2003, the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press decides to give to the Ford Ranger the award for the Best Compact Pickup of the Rockies.

An Orangery - What Are They and Are They Better Than a Conservatory?

What is an Orangery? Are they worth the money?

The Orangery can be classed as the next generation of Conservatories with their elegant design features and the sheer warmth they create. Orangeries look more like an extension that will definitely become a focal point of all occasions. Its an ultimate showpiece for all guests. There are so many designs you can choose from and buying an Orangery is probably one of the most exciting things you will ever do.

Are they worth the money?

Personally I think they are, but then your probably going to think I would say that, however, an Orangery is similar to an extension and currently an extensions is alot more than the average Conservatory. Their roof designs can be changed to a lantern style with a lot of brickwork involved.

Alot of people decide to have bi-folding doors on an Orangery and I think these make a real difference to the look and feel of the average Orangery. I suggest that you take a look on google to view images and for more information on Orangeries - you will be able to see why Orangeries are the new innovation for the home improvement industry.

Remember with an Orangery you will have the benefits of warmth, a brilliant design feature and an Ultimate showpiece for any property.

Advice for you

Don't forget the saying 'you get what you pay for', so never go with the cheapest quote, but never go with the most expensive and I suggest you go with a local company, not a national company.

But good luck with your decision and hopefully one day soon you will think that this article inspired you to get one of the newest innovations to date.

The Rangers Goal Scorer and the Rookie Net Minder!

Marian Gaborik puts home a goal in each period for a hat-trick while rookie goalie Chad Johnson gets his first NHL win coming up big between the pipes beating the Avalanche 3-1. With the win the Rangers snap a five game losing streak and earn an important two points in a tough road game.

With the Rangers down 3-0 the night before in Phoenix after two periods of play they put together two late goals for an impressive come back that fell short. Marian Gaborik would also hit a post late in the third of that game that kept the Rangers down a goal. A inch shy of a tie game.

Well the tuff play in the last minutes of that game seemed like it carried over into Colorado as the Rangers put together a solid team win.

Johnson getting his second straight start in goal due to the flu stricken Henrik Lundqvist made many big saves on the night and stopped 34 of 35 shots. With the Blue Shirts up 3-0 late into the third Cody McLeod would get the Avalanche their first goal of the night on a back hand at 12:39 of the final session breaking Johnson's bid for the shut-out.

Gaborik who scored his 30th goal of the season in Phoenix scored goals number 31, 32 and 33 in Colorado. Gaborik said you feel better playing with a lead as Tortorella said you can see he was skating well in his first two shifts on the evening.

Rangers special teams have clicked on the Penalty Kill. Going six for six against Colorado they went seven for seven against the Coyotes the night before.

Great game for New York as they get back to that eight spot with the win and are a game over.500. Next up is the tuff Los Angles Kings ending their three game road trip then back home to face the mighty Washington Capitals.

Maybe I Will and Maybe I Won't!

One of the traits of successful people is the ability to make a decision quickly but change that decision slowly. I believe it was General Sherman who told one of his subordinate generals that indecision is a virus that will kill an army.

It is also a virus that will kill your opportunity for success. Making a wrong decision may cost you some time and money, making no decision will cost you your future. When a general is unable to be decisive in the heat of battle, his troops lose faith in him, his ability to lead erodes and soon his entire army becomes so demoralized that even a small group of farmers can defeat a larger professional group of soldiers.

This is also true in business, the longer an executive takes to make a decision the less likely that the final decision will work as planned. Entire corporations become afflicted with "analysis paralysis" because every single possible outcome must be considered and analyzed before a decision will be made. If you know anything about math you will know that the combination of even 10 or 15 variables can yield thousands of possible outcomes.

Analyzing everyone of those outcomes becomes a never-ending quest and the corporation becomes paralyzed and unable to function. Opportunities will come and go as the analysis continues, answering "What happens if..." becomes the business of the business rather than earning money. And soon the business dies because it was paralyzed and couldn't make the decision to live.

The same thing happens with small internet businesses, we want success to be guaranteed, we want all risk removed before we will act, we really want to be employees with entrepreneur incomes. The guarantees offered aren't good enough because "What if..." can never be completely answered. So we watch as others reap the rewards of making a decision and we tell the story to our grandchildren about how we could have purchased Apple stock in 1978 but, who knew computers would ever be this popular?

There are five questions which you should answer to make your decision about internet marketing and whether you should join a particular opportunity, if you get a "Yes" answer to every question then you should sign up and get busy. A no answer to any questions means move on, that opportunity is not for you.

Here are the five questions:

1. Is there a real person who will answer my questions and who is actually concerned about my success? Only you can do what it takes to be successful but sometimes you need a nudge to send you in the right direction. Being an entrepreneur means you must be a self-starter but it does not mean you need to be the lone ranger.

2. Is there some kind of training program that will get me started today? No one should expect you to know all the answers before you begin and there should be a program to help you become profitable as quickly as possible. Remember that different people become successful at different rates so use the training to become successful at your speed whether that is quicker or slower than others.

3. Do I personally like the product or service being offered? A product you believe in will provide you with incentive to become a skilled marketer, a product you think is ridiculous will never make you a dime because you won't be able to write compelling ad copy because you just don't believe in it. For many people a product or service must benefit humankind in some way for them to become involved. Know yourself and your belief system.

4. Does the opportunity provide me a long-term future? With some opportunities you might come up with a maybe rather than a yes or no. A company with several years of success is a good indication of future profitability. If you are considering a new launch and all the excitement that goes with it you really will not know if a long-term future is available. If you are a risk taker then you may want to go forward with the opportunity. If you are scared silly about failure there may be too much unknown for you to go forward.

5. Does the opportunity provide sufficient income to meet my goals? There are many opportunities available that provide a modest income and they have a great track record. But if you want to make six figures a month you need an opportunity with that kind of potential. How do you know? There are websites that have information on incomes of high-producers, however, if you can't trust the people you are going into business with to give you good information the you might want to consider another opportunity.

Answer these five questions to become a good decision maker and you will find your life will be filled with less struggle because you have taken charge of your life!

Rangers went on to play just one more game that year against Clyde. It was in this game that Rangers wore the famous Royal blue strip for the first time, the game ended with Rangers winning 11-0.

The next season Rangers missed the deadline to join the Scottish Football Association this resulted in them missing out on a place in the Scottish cup, this meant the team could only playing friendly matches that season.

A Beginner's Guide to 4x4 Suspension Lift Kits

You see them all the time: Light trucks, Sport Utility Vehicles, Jeeps, and more, coasting down the highway, sitting atop towering truck suspension lift kits and sporting a set of tires so big that a person could live in them. If you're the curious type looking to lift up your own rig, a more important question than "How do I get my ride to do that" is "Why should my ride do that?"

There are several reasons why people might customize their vehicles with suspension lift kits, as well as quite a bit to know before you get started. If you're a seasoned veteran who has conquered the most vicious terrains and knows your vehicle better than your own mother, there probably isn't much for you to learn here. On the other hand, if you're just getting started and want to familiarize yourself with the basics, read on.

Why should I lift my ride?

Glad you asked. Equipping vehicles with a suspension lift kits involves much more than buying the sexiest looking truck lift kit and then dropping your ride off at the local mechanic. Actually, chances are good that if that's all you plan to do, lifting your ride might not be right for you in the first place. Installing truck suspension lift kits requires some hard work, a bit of technical savvy and consistent upkeep and attention to your vehicle's components.

The first determination you need to make when considering suspension lift kits is what you want to do with it. There are essentially two main purposes for installing truck lift kits: style or function. Although the two are somewhat interrelated, it's still important to consider which purpose you most wish to pursue, as it will assist you in making the correct modifications to your vehicle.

Style:

Let's face it: Transforming a vehicle into a style statement has been a popular hobby ever since the advent of tailfins and flame decals. As much as we all might chuckle at a hybrid hatchback sitting on 18" wheels, or the family sedan with a wing that resembles the Seattle Space Needle more than a spoiler, we also find our own vehicles having fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, or a bobbling hula dancer statuette on the dash. As far as style is concerned, adding truck lift kits makes more of an impression than anything else you can do to your ride. Heads turn instantly at the sight of a lifted rig with massive tires that appear to be sprouting fangs and an exhaust system that scares stray puppies into hiding.

When it comes to adding suspension lift kits to make a style statement, looking good is the easy part. Sometimes it's easy to overlook general, everyday performance in the midst of decking out a ride. For this reason, choosing the right suspension lift kit with attention to comfort, reliability, durability, safety, and not to mention price, should be given just as much consideration as those precious inches you want to add.

Performance:

So you've made the jump into tuning your rig for the off-road world, and you're ready to take the plunge to invest in one of many truck lift kits. But before diving headfirst into a custom truck lift kit and gigantic tires, there are a number of issues to address to ensure a correct setup. The first step is to ask yourself what you will be doing the most, whether it's slow-speed rock crawling, high-speed desert racing, general purpose 4 wheeling, mud racing, or long distance open country treks. From there, you can narrow down what you need to do in order to customize your vehicle to suit your needs.

Whether you're just starting out, or you're the experienced professional, tuning your rig for optimum off-road performance is an expansive hobby with numerous factors to be wary of. The possibilities are limitless, which can sometimes make it hard to determine exactly which suspension lift kits are ideal for what you want.

Where do I begin?

As if determining which suspension lift kits to purchase weren't complicated enough, installing truck lift kits can alter other components in your vehicle, sometimes causing unforeseen issues that could affect performance or be potentially detrimental to the vehicle itself. For example, drive shaft length, steering geometry, brake lines, highway performance and handling, gear ratios, and overall weight are just a few of the factors that could potentially be impacted by adding truck suspension lift kits.

Finding ample resources to determine what products you need can be difficult. Speaking with a mechanic can provide some insight. Reading factory service manuals, off-road magazines, internet message boards, manufacturer's guides, and a number of other resources can help as well. But by far the most useful way to determine what truck lift kits are right for you and your vehicle is to consult an experienced and knowledgeable person who has a vehicle similar to yours and uses it in the manner similar to what you want to do. Not only can such a person suggest the correct products, but also likely has experience with installation tips and general drivability.

In the meantime, here are some of the basic elements of suspension lift kits for you to keep in mind as you plan your modifications.

What does a Suspension Lift Kit do?

Clearance

For starters, one of the foremost reasons for installing truck suspension lift kits is to raise the height of your ride off the ground to enable steeper ascent or descent off-road, and higher ground clearance. In general, it makes sense that when driving over boulders, slogging through mud, coasting across the desert, or even just making your way through the occasional forest trail, higher clearance facilitates negotiating certain obstacles. This can often be a tricky bit of artistry to manage, as higher clearance also raises your vehicle's center of gravity, which can reduce handling.

Larger Tire Fitment

The general consensus suggests that larger tires equate to more traction, right? Well, not entirely. While larger tires may provide some improvement to traction in off-road conditions, there are other ways to improve a vehicle's traction that are far more efficient than simply bulking up the rubber. Aside from the obvious stylistic discretion, the main reasons for adding larger tires are for higher vehicle clearance for improved performance in mud, deep snow, rocks, and deeply rutted trails. Certain tires designed specifically for off-road conditions can improve traction depending on the circumstances, but the added clearance is the most immediate and direct benefit of larger tires.

Factors to Consider with Truck Suspension Lift Kits:

Installation: Many manufacturers offer manuals for installing truck lift kits onto certain vehicles; however, some installations are quite intricate, requiring some welding or cutting in order to add some necessary components. In this case, having a trusted mechanic or a few knowledgeable friends is the best resolution.

Additional Modifications: Upgrading to truck lift kits with taller tires also means that a number of components may require part upgrades or some tuning to compensate. For instance, a truck's engine is tuned at specific gear ratios to propel the vehicle. When adding taller tires, the gear ratios must be tweaked accordingly, since the engine has to spin much larger, heavier tires. Again, consult with more experienced individuals for further insight.

Highway Performance: Larger, wider tires can sometimes result in instability on roads or a noisy, uncomfortable ride, particularly at high speeds. Also, more aggressive off-road tires tend to wear faster on the highway, and traction might not be as great as you would expect on wet roads. In this sense, larger tires can sometimes be a gamble without any direction from an experienced off-road veteran.

Weight: larger tires are heavier, which can put a lot of strain on your suspension, particularly if it's a stock suspension. Trusted, durable suspension components and lighter aluminum wheels can sometimes help to reduce the strain.

Handling: Adding truck suspension lift kits will undoubtedly raise the vehicle's center of gravity, resulting in less stable turns. This is a common issue when installing truck lift kits, but is mostly just a matter of becoming accustomed to a vehicle's change in performance.

Legality: Some suspension lift kits are such a serious change in your suspension system that it may not be legal. Check the suspension regulations within your country, state, or province to be sure.

A Few Useful Accessories: Before installing a lift kit, it's a good idea to first examine if any components will be affected by your vehicle's new height. Here are a few useful accessories that may need to be upgraded:

Brake Upgrades: Stock brakes can't always accommodate larger tires, or will wear easily due to the added strain.
Drivetrain and Differential: Axles, gears, differential covers, lockers and more ensure that your drivetrain is up to par with your suspension.
Replacement Parts: Longer Control Arms and Track Bars to compensate for the additional height of your rig.
Shocks: For those taller lifts, longer shocks will ensure the smoothest performance both on and off road.
Other Parts: Steering linkage, slip yoke, drive shaft length, u-joint angle, and brake lines are all worthy of consideration before installing suspension lift kits.

Installing Suspension Lift Kits:

When it comes time to install a lift kit, there are two ways possible ways to go about it: install it yourself, or have a professional do the job. Naturally, each has its advantages and disadvantages, and when it comes to your rig, attention to detail is crucial. A general rule to follow is that even if you know you want a large lift, it's best to start with a small lift and work your way up. This allows you to work out any kinks and hindrances along the way to make sure your kit works right.

Do-It-Yourself

Even if you're not technically inclined, taking the time to learn the inner mechanics of your vehicle is a valuable experience that can save you time and money. An intimate knowledge of your rig can also allow you to make your own modifications to your vehicle if the need arises. There are numerous resources available that can usually guide you through the majority of the process; however, one must keep in mind that it's a lot to take in, and tweaking the intricate components of your vehicle is no small matter. It's always a good idea to have a second set of hands or an experienced individual assisting you.

On the downside, even with the increasing availability of bolt-on kits, installing suspension lift kits is no easy task, particularly if you're a beginner. Additionally, certain instructions or resources can sometimes be misleading or based upon the personal preferences of individual gearheads. Often times, after installing a lift kit you'll find yourself spending hours tweaking the other components of your vehicle to get them back to spec. That's a whole lot to take on, particularly if you're inexperienced.

Mechanic

A licensed professional installing your lift kit is typically the best way to ensure that suspension lift kits are installed correctly, so long as you're willing to pay the labor charges. A professional can perfectly tune your vehicle to your liking and see to it that all components are working as they should, all within a fraction of the time it would take even the most experienced gearheads to install it themselves.

On the other hand, as is the case with regard to any mechanic, it might be difficult to find one you can trust to install the kit properly while not overcharging you for any unnecessary parts. Also, if you're not a gearhead, anytime there's a functional deficiency or your vehicle needs minor tweaking, you have no choice but to return to the mechanic for service.

Suspension Lift Sizes:

Small: A small lift consists of 1.5 or fewer inches, and will grant you a little more clearance and room to run slightly larger tires. The most common way to gain a small lift is by using coil spacers in front and long shackles in the rear.

Advantages/Disadvantages: Small lifts are inexpensive and easy to install with very few complications.

Medium: A medium lift is roughly 2" of lift, and is a good choice for those looking for the best tire clearance, but aren't planning on doing any off-roading. Common medium-sized lifts use spacer and add-a-leaf lifts, and sometimes come with new shocks.

Advantages/Disadvantages: You'll notice changes in handling and performance: some good, some bad. You'll also need strong rear springs, and if you plan to use an add-a-leaf kit, later modification for more lift may be difficult, since add-a-leafs are designed to lift stock springs.

Large: The largest lifts consist of 3 to 4" or more for an aggressive look and the best off-road performance. A common large lift setup consists of new front coils and add-a-leafs in the rear, plus some combination of new front coils and new rear springs. These kits often include a matching set of shocks.

Advantages/Disadvantages: Large lifts are obviously the most expensive, and more complications are expected than with smaller lifts. On-road performance will also be affected, sometimes dramatically. But a large lift will transform your rig into an intimidating off-road machine that will stand out among a crowd.

Types of Suspension Lift Kits:

Spring Over Axle (SPOA):

SPOA suspension lift kits are most popular among serious rock crawlers looking for the utmost articulation (up and down wheel travel). These truck lift kits keep the tires on the ground for maximum traction, while correctly lifted springs lifts everything out of harm's way, including the springs.

Shackle Reverse (S/R) Suspension Lift Kits:

S/R truck lift kits are designed to provide a smooth ride upon mild terrain such as forest roads, desert driving, and scenic trails; however, high-speed driving on highways is not recommended.

Coil Suspension Lift Kits:

The choice of many of the world's best-riding 4 wheel drive vehicles, Coil Suspension Lift Kits offer unrivaled ride quality and cheaper springs, but installation sometimes requires some welding. The end result, however, is a suspension lift kit that provides excellent articulation on the trail, and a comfortable ride you have to feel to believe.

Lifted Spring Suspension Lift Kits:

The most commonly used type of truck lift kits in the world, Lifted Spring systems are easier to install, and an excellent choice for first-time lifters in the off-road world. These truck lift kits allow you to run larger tires for additional clearance, while producing control on the highway.

Shackle Suspension Lift Kits:

As probably the most affordable way to add inches to your rig, Shackle Suspension Lift Kits are primarily for the truck enthusiast looking to add larger tires, yet are not intending to do much hardcore off-roading. Moderation is recommended with these truck lift kits, as Shackle systems are known to affect steering and sway control.

Respect For Maine and Other Hikers

As many hikers that you will come across on your adventure in Maine are typically day hikers. They are those looking for a nice stroll or a mini adventure lasting only a day. Others have their profession as hiking and Maine is one of the most populated states for having hiking as a career. Regardless who you come across, please be aware of the goals and paths of those around you and what they are trying to achieve as they will do with you. As Maine is a very pleasant state, many of the tourists who come to Maine to plan a hiking trip, please be aware of the respect many of them have for the locals and the employees and park rangers who run these hiking paths.

Another area of concern is pollution. Maine is one of the best states in controlling both air and garbage pollution. Maine is considered a progressive state in dealing with pollution control and it can become very easy for just about anyone to pollute the trails and paths along the tough terrain. Be advised of the massive fines that are levied against all polluters who do such along the trail. Also, respect for the environment and the effort Maine puts into creating these hiking trails as a tourist destination is something that must be taken into consideration. Some park ranger stations either sell for cheap or give away environmentally friendly green garbage bags that park employees will pick up at designated locations. Maine is one of the only states to offer the green garbage bags, so just in case, pick one up and bring it with you.

Sometimes, you can leave your bag at a trail next to someone else's and those hikers who have gone before you will take over the duty of taking your trash down with them but you are expected to be on the honor system and do the same as others have done for you. This has been specifically designed so that you properly dispose of your garbage on the Maine trails and keep the parks and mountains clean.

If your planning on bringing water with you to wash your hands or whatnot, be sure to also ask for complimentary bio-degradable hand soap that is provided by either the park ranger station or some of your fellow hikers. As aforementioned, Maine has a huge policy on pollution and with these specific bio-degradable soap bars are find to use anywhere; in creeks, streams, ponds, lakes, and rivers.

As Maine has respect for the environment like none other, you'll become an environmentally aware hiker once you take on the trails on the Maine countryside. As your experience in this vast countryside will prove healthy and eye-opening enough, you'll fell as if you come away a better person with a higher respect for both the environment as well as the Maine trails.

An Orangery is an Investment For Life

When people purchase a property nowadays, many people do so with the intention of staying there for the rest of their days. This is purely because a house is such an expensive purchase, one which we do not want to have to repeat a few years down the line. But as families grow it means that living space becomes increasingly restricted and you are left with two options, move home or somehow try to extend your existing residence.

Many people opt to extend their living space with a brick built extension, but this is not the most aesthetically pleasing look. Some will go for conservatories, but an increasing amount of people are deciding to go for something completely new and are choosing an orangery. The reason being is that orangeries are guaranteed to be a permanent and reliable fixture at a home for as long as people are living in their chosen property.

They may be a heftier investment than a conservatory, but other time the installation of an orangery will pay for itself thanks to the amount of heat insulation they bring and pleasure they can bring to families up and down the land.

You can even accessorize your orangery with tiled flooring, floored heating and air conditioning for those really warm days. You could easily install a sofa or dining table in your new orangery so that you relax or lunch in it at your own luxury. Installing spotlights is a great idea if you want to make use of your orangery at night times, it can really make your home stand out under the moon and stars.

Toyota has been an innovator in the use of electronically controlled valve timing to improve the efficiency of their engines. The new version of the 4.0L V6 engine used in the Toyota FJ Cruiser for the 2010 model year is a great example.

VVT-i (variable valve timing with intelligence) is now being upgraded to a Dual VVT-i in the 2010 FJ. For the consumer this means and additional 19 horsepower, boosting the rating from 239 to 258, along with torque of 271at 440 rpm.. At the same time overall fuel efficiency has been improved.

The 'Dual' aspect now being offered adjusts the exhaust side of the equation. By enhancing the open period of the exhaust valve, Toyota optimizes the flow patterns to succeed in offering more power while using less fuel.

With strong torque numbers the consumer will feel comfortable in towing situations, and even more importantly for the FJ Cruiser, four wheel adventuring that calls for the power to push through extreme situations. The updated engine offered in the 2010 FJ Cruiser will deliver with the power and strength to get you there and back without guzzling huge amounts of fuel.

This proven engine, shared by the Toyota Tacoma and 4Runner, is a workhorse that will deliver years of driving enjoyment in all situations. As a result owners will experience all the fun and versatility offer in the 2010 FJ in conjunction with the solid dependability that has been the foundation of Toyota's continued success in the marketplace.
