Extreme SEAL Experience "Part Three" Navy SEAL BUDS Prep Training

These four videos are to show guys who we are and how we feel; why we conduct the Navy SEAL Training we do and what our backgrounds are. The 'Key-Players" involved and what guys can expect when they come for a course. Sorry there are no explosions going off, no helicopters, no gunfire and no cool music. This video is what it is and I'd appreciate it if it be taken as that and commented on and rated accordingly. We are as genuine and honest a small company as you can get. We simply "Give a Shit" about each and every man who comes for a course and BUST our asses to deliver what we promise... There is honestly, noting in the "World" that compares to what we do here. Free Crochet Patterns For Advanced Beginner - Advanced Crochet Tutorial

Its fun to prepare crochet designs. It's as fun and exciting for a beginner as to an expert crothetier. "CROCHET" the word comes with a lot of potential of creativeness and possibility to explore designs laterally.

The crochet craft can be used to make anything, almost everything; both the thread and hook can be used creatively to make things like scarves, bandanas, pullovers, Hats, gloves, dresses, jewelry and many more accessories.

Just think about it and most probably a crocheted form of it should exist and if not you are in for a new concept, that's creativity!. Creativity, now that is a term that we often come across but most often we neglect it as if we were alien to it.

Everyone has the potential to be creative and it is not limited to some people only, you start being creative the moment you do things yourself and then gradually as you can mix your ideas by implementing them in a particular fashion you can call yourself creative. There are many online resources in the form of website that offer various designs and patterns that can be made.

My destination shall be http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com central.com for the simple reason that's its database of designs is the largest I have came across and the best I would say. It can surely keep you occupied for the next 3 years.

Now what makes me think so, let me explain it has a wide range of hat patterns to offer , lets count it to reach to figure, It's Difficult to be a Green Hat,Instant Enjoyment Hat, Lacey Casey Cap, It Striped Me Funky Hat, J.T.'s Favorite Stitch Chemo Cap, Julie's Fulled Cap, Cool Rock Ski-Beanie, "Mushroom" Cap, Kinky Reggae Hat, Jacqueline Modern Flapper Bonnet, Kalispell Hat, Lace Cap Kitty Cat Hat, Lace Juliet Cap, Kathleen Contemporary Flapper Hat, Kitty, 4 Star Cloche, 3-Way Cap and and list goes on!!!! Actually the most valuable resource I came across.

But before you involve yourself in a difficult project you should ensure that the basics are clear in terms of the technique and accessories used like the knitting process and its application on fabrics.

Take one thing at a time and do not hurry to get things right on your first attempt, have a picture of the design in mind and then try it out practically when your are satisfied then take the next step towards completing your project.

Some other basic of the process include chain making, single crochet or a slip stitch Be sure that you know the art to make solitary crochet or slip, chain, trebling, a double treble, braid with double treble, half treble, buttonholes (Both vertical and horizontal), chevron strips, decreasing, increasing, scallop edge and chevron pattern (arches, angles, triple treble, twisted switch, lattice switch, liitle leaf, little leaf, up and down, raised basket weave, crab, cluster, picot leaf, picot lace, steps,) Afghan or Tunisian crochet is a different field.

Joining a training program is good idea as well. Internet sites provide such training manuals as well. Once you are done with your basics try your hand on these free websites for further resources they can keep you occupied for quite some time.

Long-Range Wireless LAN - Cost-Effective Solution for Rural Internet Access?

Long-Range Wireless LAN: cost-effective solution for rural internet access?

Is it finally the answer for cost-effective internet access in remote regions?

The physical and geographic location of some remote regions of the world has made it difficult to establish a reliable communication link thus depriving it full benefits of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Linking remote communities to the so-called communications highway by landline or by any of the available fixed-line systems is simply expensive and financially not viable. The reality of few subscribers in rural areas can dampen every investor's enthusiasm.

Notwithstanding the phenomenal growth of cellular-mobile phones that brought tremendous impact to communication, high speed connection to the internet, is very much limited with early generation GSM/CDMA phones and to some extent next generation mobile wireless networks. It would take years for 3G technology to make an impact in remote regions.

In order to catch-up with the ICT bandwagon, fill-in the demand for broadband connectivity and services in un-served areas, an opportunity awaits to be tap by utilizing long-range Wireless LAN (WLAN) and long-range cordless telecom platforms (also called as phone extender) which are fast gaining ground as a reliable, secure and cost-effective alternative to delivering broadband communications services in remote areas.

This articles aims to harness and leverage new emerging Long-Range Wireless LAN technology to compliment existing fixed-line network resources and improve delivery of data communications in remote regions of the world.

Discover how Long-Range Wireless LAN will answer the requirement for a true cost-effective solution internet access in remote regions.

WIFI INDOOR VS OUTDOOR LONG-RANGE WIRELESS LAN PLATFORM:

There are two types of Wireless LAN which is synonymous to short-range and long-range communication: indoor and outdoor.

Indoor type equipment refers to traditional device, as the word suggest, connotes limited transmission coverage within 30-50m and up to 900m when fitted with outdoor antenna. However, being fitted with outdoor antenna does not make them true outdoor equipment. Synchronization and reliable operation are sometimes sacrificed. Indoor-type Wireless LAN equipment are "off-the-shelf", commercially available equipment that can be obtained from computer dealers. It is designed purely for indoor use.

The second type is outdoor long-range Wireless LAN. The difference lies in the design and intended application. Some WLAN manufacturers are concentrating on making outdoor equipment, designing them for maximum transmission coverage while maintaining data throughput.

Outdoor Long-Range Wireless LAN is designed to be robust, resilient, reliable, secure and weatherproof. As "true-outdoor" unit (as oppose to indoor fitted with outdoor antenna), both radio unit and antenna are installed outdoors utilizing Power-over-Ethernet (POE note: power is feed via CAT 5 cable) thus resulting in minimal gain loss because of their shorter antenna cables.

Depending on the radiated power (250mW to 1 watt to 4 watts) and antenna-type (Omni, Flat-Panel, Yagi, Parabolic and Dish) range can reach from 9km to 60km long enough to reach remote areas. Data transmission speed varies though with up to 11Mbps max for 802.11b model with auto-fallback going 5.5 or 2Mbps sacrificing speed/throughput in favor of reliable transmission and up to 54Mbps and 108Mbps (in turbo-mode) for some 802.11g/a model also with auto-fallback.

Outdoor Long-Range Wireless LAN on bridge and point-to-point mode can reach as much as 60Km transmission distance in open terrain (line-of-sight). Truly, Long-Range Wireless LAN is a cost-effective solution for rural internet access.

Cholesterol Ranges - Lower LDL and Increase HDL to Bring Cholesterol Ratio to Permitted Range

The maintenance of cholesterol range is extremely necessary for leading a healthy life. Excess of LDL or bad cholesterol can cause heart diseases. They should be kept under a certain limit for avoiding these disorders. Cholesterol levels define the total blood cholesterol in our body as a whole as well as the amount of other components such as LDL, HDL and Triglycerides present in blood. It is always advisable to conduct a blood test for keeping a check in these levels.

In order to get rid of deadly heart diseases like heart attacks, heart cancer, we should lower LDL and increase HDL in our body. The permissible limit for LDL should be below 100 mg/dL while HDL level should be always kept higher than 40 mg/dL. The amount of Triglycerides should be lower than 105 mg/dL in our body.

Lower LDL And Increase HDL To Bring Cholesterol Ratio To Permitted Range

. There are various techniques to maintain the Cholesterol ranges. We should carry out regular workouts, eat proper food and maintain a healthy lifestyle for getting rid of bad cholesterol. Cardio workouts such as running, swimming, walking and hiking can engender activities in your body, which consequently helps your body to maintain a decent level.

. You should eat balanced diet for obtaining a disease free body. Drinking plenty of water is equally beneficial. You should drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily to lower LDL and increase HDL.

PRIS/NTNM - Shell Shocked, Part 1/3

Astronema realizes that she's going to have to play the Rangers at their own game, so she uses the Dark Fortress to summon the Ninja Turtles out of the sewers and onto the streets of New York City. The Turtles are a little surprised to meet up with Astronema, and even more surprised to find out that the Power Rangers aren't make believe like they originally thought. Astronema then takes over the minds of the Turtles, and sends down a monster to the Angel Grove Power Plant. The Rangers fly down on their Galaxy Gliders and are almost defeated by the monster until the Ninja Turtles intervene and destroy the monster on their own. The Rangers are grateful for the Ninja Turtles' help, all except for Andros who is suspicious of them. The Rangers take the Turtles back to their Mega ship and give them a tour. The Turtles then reprogram DECA (the Mega ship's computer), defeat the Power Rangers, and take over the ship. Astronema arrives and informs Dark Spectre that she has captured the Power Rangers except for the Red Ranger, who ends up freeing the other Rangers. They escape in the Mega Shuttle but Donatello chases after them in the Mega ship. Suddenly the Mega ship gets caught up in a magnetic field, which releases the Turtles from Astronema's grip. She escapes, but not before she activates DECA's self destruct program. The Turtles deactivate the self destruct and then teleport down to the planet's surface to help the Rangers defeat the Quantron army. The Turtles patch up their ...

Half Moon Lake Trail - Alpine, AZ

The Half Moon Lake Trail is located in the Williams Valley Winter Recreation Area of the Apache National Forest and falls under the jurisdiction of the Alpine Ranger District. The Half Moon Lake Trail is the longest in the trail system, approximately 10 miles and offers year around recreation for hiking and biking during the summer and x-country/back-country skiing in the winter.

Directions : Approximately 4.5 hours from Phoenix, Tucson or El Paso. From the intersection of US191 & US 180 in Alpine, Arizona. Travel north on US 191 approximately 2 miles to the Forest Road 249 turnoff. During the summer the sign reads "Big Lake" with an arrow pointing west and in the winter the sign is flipped down and reads "Williams Valley Winter Recreation Area". Turn west and travel 3.4 miles to a wide spot in the road with a Forest Service kiosk just below the road berm (south side). This locates you in the middle of the Williams Valley Winter Recreation Area. The area is closed to motorized travel. N3351.760' & W10913.205' - Elevation 8675'.

Head due south across the meadow, climb a slight incline and head for the tree line. You will pick up a trail known as the Valley Loop. Head west on this easy to follow trail as it meanders through the forest, veers south, passes a gate and opens up into Lookout Meadow. N3351.615' & W10913.775' - Elevation 8800'. The Lookout Meadow Loop is a great short outing in itself, perhaps 1 1/2 hours and back to your vehicle. However, if you have a few extra hours, veer to the right (SW) and bust a move uphill for a half mile or so. You will come to a fork in the trail with a sign designating the right fork as Up & Over. There is no trickery here, the trail literally goes up and over and is only about 1/3 of a mile long. Once you are "over" - you will be on the Isolation Meadow Trail. N3351.430' & W10914.155' - Elevation 8770'. Take this trail to the southeast for a long uphill slog, you will pass a cool little water tank that's a lot deeper than it looks ! Continue uphill and you will arrive at a woodpile in the trail with a gate just beyond. Travel though the gate approximately 200 yards and to the northeast you will see a "blue diamond" as a trail designation attached to a large aspen tree. N3351.050' & W 10914.055' - Elevation 8980'.

For the next 3/4 mile you will be heading in an easterly direction and slowly climbing - the trail is established, but look for the blue diamonds in the trees to keep you on route. Eventually you will come to a two-track road. N3350.975' & W10913.635' - Elevation 9020'. Follow this two-track uphill to the northeast, the blue diamonds will still guide you along. Once you "top-out" the trail will begin to meander through the forest with the odd undulation and occasional meadow. You will pass a trail named Ya Hoo, this trail will drop you back down to Lookout Meadow if you're running short on time. However, the next couple of miles is the best part of the day since you are now on the Half Moon Lake Trail ! Within a 1/4 mile on your left (east) will be Half Moon Lake itself. N3350.765' & W10912.840' - Elevation 9200'. For most of the year the lake is dry and is pretty much a "mud hole", but after the spring snow melt and during monsoon season the lake does fill up with water. This is a great camping destination and a favorite hang out for massive bull elk.

After leaving Half Moon Lake the trail is pretty easy to follow with blue diamonds in the trees every few hundred feet. You will stay on top of the mountain (part of South Mountain) for a mile and then the trail will drop off back west. You will come to an open area and for lack of a better term an "intersection". There will be a blue diamond in a ponderosa pine with an arrow pointing west. N3350.560' & W 10911.935' - Elevation 9350'. This is now a two-track road again, follow it for 3/4 mile and it will make a gradual descent. To your left (SW) you will notice a meadow forming through the trees, it's best to cut through the trees and into the meadow. However, if you stay on the two-track it will drop you midway into the meadow. This is the start of three "Hanging Meadows" that drain the north slope of the entire area. This is one of the most beautiful and remote location in Alpine....it is also the locals favorite area for skiing since there are numerous telemark ski hills and great sunny picnic areas.

Continue to travel to the west and follow the meadows edge (either side) downhill. You will come to another water tank, which is also deeper than it looks ! N3350.805' & W10912.535' - Elevation 9200'. To the south and uphill of this tank is another large meadow which is fun to explore on skis or hiking - it's also loaded with great camp locations. As you look downhill and to the west, you will see the last of the three Hanging Meadows. Continue downhill and go up and over a Forest Service berm. This trail is quite rocky with loose scree; it's a great place for mountain bikers that prefer "rock gardens". Within a half mile you will pass the lower trail head of Ya Hoo, another half mile and you will drop into the eastern edge of Lookout Meadow. N3351.275' & W10913.425' - Elevation 8880'. You will pass another gate and continue along the two-track road which is on the northern edge of Lookout Meadow - another half mile and you will recognize your original point of entry into Lookout Meadow a few hours before.

The route described is over 10 miles and will take 3-4 hours hiking or 2 hours to bike or ski. Keep a close watch on the weather, especially during our July-September monsoon season, it rains almost every afternoon with frequent lightening strikes.

For more information on hiking, biking, skiing, fly-fishing and real estate in the Alpine area please visit my website at http://www.AlpineNutriosoRealEstate.com

The Pickup Truck - From Farm Wagon to Muscle Truck

The pickup truck is as American as apple pie, the Lone Ranger and Tonto. We associate these trucks with the Old West, American family values, and southern states like Texas. Owners of pickup trucks are usually proud of their vehicles and what they stand for. It's the vehicle of a hard working American.

The pickup truck of today comes in all imaginable makes and models, shapes and sizes. It is found on most any job site, in anyone's garage. The versatility of the pickup truck comes first and foremost from its simple utility. It is as fundamental an innovation to the automobile as the wheel.

And like the invention of the wheel, the pickup truck comes from humble beginnings. Before the days of Ford's Model T and internal combustion engines, there was real horse power. That is, carriages driven by teams of horses. Prior to the introduction of horseless carriages, farmers and industrial workers relied on horse driven wagons to carry materials around a worksite.

With the debut of the Model T in 1908 however, farmers quickly found ways to modify the vehicle, adding a makeshift cargo bed to the back. Motorized vehicles cut down significantly on transportation costs for farmers and industrial workers. Finally, over a decade later, Ford introduced the first proper factory-made pickup truck, which was called the Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body. This vehicle was a slight modification to the Model T and included a cargo bed in the rear and an adjustable tailgate, and sold for $281.

Over the years many variations on the pickup truck were introduced including compact pickups which are the most widely used form of pickup trucks worldwide. Made popular in America during the 1960s, the compact pickup was sold primarily by the Japanese manufacturers Nissan and Toyota. A popular, larger pickup truck, the full-size pickup is used for moving heavy loads or personal use. The American full-size pickup is typically sold for passenger travel, and is built by Ford, GMC, Chrysler, Chevrolet, and more recently,Toyota.

Introduced in 1987 with the Dodge Dakota, mid-size to large pickups are very popular in the United States. These trucks feature large cargo beds, but are not as large as full-size pickups. The most powerful pickups in the world, better known as muscle trucks, are built for high performance and hauling capability. Some manufacturers of these heavy duty trucks are Dodge, Holden, Ford, and General Motors.

A sports utility truck, or SUT, gets its name for its similarity to other sports utility vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, it is built for light to heavy loads. If you're in the market for a used vehicle, why not consider the many advantages of driving a truck. Whether you live in the city or the country, a truck can be stylish as well as a real work horse. Only you don't have to feed it.

Best Gas Mileage Pickup Truck - Top 5 by Ranking Revealed

Not only is the economy severely faltering right now but gas prices are through the roof and there seems to be no end in site. An increasing number of states are already seeing prices that are in danger of skyrocketing right past five dollars per gallon. As such, it is vitally important to find the best gas mileage pickup truck; our wallets practically demand it. Truthfully, whether you want to buy a car, a truck, or a sports utility vehicle, getting the best gas mileage for your money is crucial. This is especially true for pickup trucks and sports utility vehicles, however, because they generally haul heavier loads. Trying to haul anything heavy with a truck that gets poor gas mileage is financially disastrous, so you simply have to take the time to find a vehicle with good mileage.

In the world of pickup trucks, there are small ones and standard ones. In both cases, gas mileage is determined in large part by standards and guidelines imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as how many miles they get per gallon of gas for highway driving and city driving. If you are trying to find the best gas mileage pickup truck for a small truck, the top five are as follows:

Ford Ranger, for a variety of years, is usually ranked as the highest, it is a two wheel drive truck with a 4 cyl, 2.3 liter engine.

Next up is the Mazda B2300, followed by the Toyota Tacoma with a 4 cyl, 2.7 liter engine.

The fourth ranked small pickup truck with the best gas mileage is the Chevrolet Colorado with a 2.9 liter engine, followed by the GMC Canyon, which has similar specs.

For standard pickups, a lot of the top ranked manufacturers are decidedly different. In the top spot is the Dodge Dakota with a 6 cylinder, 3.7 liter engine, followed by the Mitsubishi Raider, also a 6 cylinder with a 3.7 liter engine.

In third place is the Chevrolet Silverado; it has an 8 cyl, 5.3 liter engine. Following that is the GMC Sierra, which has a 4.3 liter engine, and last, there is the Honda Ridgeline, which is a four wheel drive truck with a 6 cylinder, 3.5 liter engine.

Basically, in order to find the best gas mileage pickup truck, you simply have to be informed. Do some research on the Internet and practice comparison shopping, and always make sure to tally up how much you can expect to pay for gas for the entire year, even if it is only a loose estimate.

Creating the Perfect Fantasy Kids Rooms

The first step to creating a fantasy kids room for your kid is to identify his or her fantasy. Does your child want to be a race car driver or an astronaut, a deep sea diver or a forest ranger, a Princess or a Pirate? To begin creating your kids fantasy bedroom, then, find out what your child's idea of a perfect fantasy kids room is.

The best fantasy kids rooms are those designed around a theme. Why? Because when all the individual elements of a bedroom contribute to the same overall vision, it creates a unity of elements and gives the room a comforting sense of wholeness that a slapdash jumble of every cool accessory and idea that catches their fancy can never give.

Help your child choose a theme for their fantasy kids room and you'll be able to create an entire world of their own that they can immerse themselves in with pleasure and delight.

Some fantasy theme room ideas for boys include: tropical jungle safari, ocean voyage, space voyage, vehicles (planes, trains, automobiles), construction zone, medieval kingdom, rock star, the Wild West - and so on.

Some fantasy theme room ideas for girls include: tea party, floral meadow or garden, Princess, movie star's dressing room, prima ballerina, carnival, animals, undersea world - and so on.

Once you and your child have settled on a theme, a easy way to begin designing a fantasy kids room around that theme is with a custom theme bed as its centerpiece. A little boy wanting a jungle fantasy theme room, for example, will go ape for a custom treehouse bed. A little girl wanting a Princess fantasy theme room, on the other hand, will treasure a custom castle bed. The possibilities are endless!

The added benefit of starting with a custom theme bed is that you can them create the rest of the fantasy kids room around that one prominent item.

A great next step is to select a color scheme based on the theme and custom bed. Pick pillows, bedding, curtains, borders, rugs, carpet, paint, wallpaper, furniture, accessories, all to compliment that color scheme. Oceanic scenes (whether above or below the sea), for example, will have a lot of blues. Garden parties and jungle safaris will have a lot of greens. You can see how easy it is to come up with colors once you've first chosen a theme.

The final step in the process, then, becomes simply to accessorize. Animal-themed fantasy kids rooms, for example, might call for some stuffed animals placed about, castle fantasy kids rooms (whether for a Princess or a Prince) might benefit from a coat of arms on the wall. Again, the ideas are endless.

So sit down with your kids as soon as you can, and start designing the fantasy kids rooms that will make their fantasies come true.

Kauai Weather

There has always been an uncertainty associated with the weather of Kauai. The island is reported to have one of the fastest changing weather trends in the world. Since Kauai is located farthest north in the Hawaiian Island chain, it has a comparatively cooler climate than the surrounding islands.

Usually the weather changes in accordance with the season. But this is not the case in Kauai. Here, the weather changes more by location. The highland and mountain regions such as Kokee boast cooler weather than the coastal regions. Every thousand feet you go up the sea level, the temperature drops by around 3.5 degrees. The north shore also has a cold climate, which tends to be 5 to 7 degrees cooler than other parts.

The climate is semitropical. The average winter daytime temperature averages between 76 to 80°F and nighttime temperature is slightly lower, 60 to 64°F. During summer, the daytime temperature ranges from 84 to 87°F whereas nighttime lows are between 70 and 72°F. The water temperature - near the shores - ranges from about 80°F to a low of about 73°F.

Kauai have moderate to high humidity. Even though the temperature and humidity are high, the weather here is rarely oppressive. Trade winds are relatively common in Kauai. The hurricane months spans from June to November. The most deadly hurricanes, Iwa and Iniki, had rocked the islands in 1982 and 1992 respectively.

Rainfall is seasonal. The average annual rainfall is around 40 inches. The rainfall is also associated with trade winds. As a result, you can see huge differences in rainfall between the island's windward sides, that is, the northern and eastern shores and the leeward side - southern and western shores. The southwest coast receives more rain when compared to the northeastern areas. Waialeale is the wettest spot on the island, with an annual rainfall of 500 inches.

Ford Ranger Tonneau Cover

There is something you should know when looking to purchase a Ford Ranger Tonneau Cover. Take your time to think about how and what you use your truck for. Quarter tons such as the Ford Ranger have limited space in the cargo area. If you need to haul items such as sheets of plywood or other similar cargo, you won't be able to with most hinged truck covers such as the fibreglass type because the gas shocks that hold up the cover get in the way. Now I am not saying if you are looking for a Ford Ranger tonneau cover that the hinged truck covers are no good. You just need to think about what you use the truck for before you buy. If you don't use your truck for bigger cargo then a hinged cover is fine and the fibreglass lids look terrific painted up to match the truck.

If you do use your truck for larger cargo, you will find there are many alternatives for a Ford Ranger tonneau cover. There are different categories to choose from away from the hinged truck cover. There are lots of roll ups, folding covers and even retractable tonneau covers. Your choices are many.

I remember when I first saw a roll up truck cover on a pickup truck. My first thoughts were what a pain in the butt if you have to take that thing off every time you use your cargo area. Now that I am much more educated on these covers my thoughts are more like what a great idea. Most of these covers roll up in seconds allowing you full access to your cargo area. Even the bows that support the tarp roll up with the tarp causing no problem what so ever.

More and more people are putting truck bed covers on their trucks. When you place a Ford Ranger tonneau cover on your truck you won't be alone. The advantages are numerous. I don't have to remind you about the price of fuel these days. Although vehicle manufacturers are making trucks lighter than years ago and engine performance is a long way from where it use to be. This all helps to save fuel consumption but we are still looking for ways to help save fuel. Purchasing a Ford Ranger tonneau cover will help on the aerodynamics of your Ranger and allow the wind to pass over your truck instead of meeting resistance at your tailgate. The more you drive, especially at higher speeds such as highway driving, the more you will save.

Now fuel savings isn't the only advantage of installing a Ford Ranger tonneau cover on your truck. These covers are great to keep the weather off your cargo. That may be reason enough to purchase one. There is also security for your cargo to think about. Although the hard hinged covers, the hard folding covers, and the retractables all have locking mechanisms on them for added security, the roll ups add a great amount of security just by keeping your cargo out of sight. Looks alone will impress anyone enough to buy a Ford Ranger tonneau cover.

Boat Hull Cleaning Procedures for Owners and Detailers

For really tough boat hull cleaning you will need to break out the acid. Muratic acid is the best for this. You'll want to have a 50/50 mix of muratic acid of 6-8% concentrated (12% is the highest concentration you can legally buy over the counter), water and a good strong sprayer. You can purchase muratic acid at Wal*Mart, K-Mart, Pool Supply Stores, Home Depot, Lowe's, Van Waters and Rogers Chemicals. Sears Craftsman makes a nice strong sprayer or try a local store for another brand of commercial pump-up sprayer.

Spray onto the boat directly after doing a presoak with a good strong blast of water. Let it sit for approximately 2 minutes. Just let the acid do its work breaking up and removing the algae. If it is still there try it again for longer and longer periods of time, but not more than 10-15 minuites. You'll be amazed how nice it looks even by the time you come back to rinse it off. Usually you can remove all this excess with a good strong brush after the acid shock treatment.

You may have to get with a smaller scrubbie into some areas around the drive system and other nooks and crannies underneath. If it's on a trailer and the bunks are on it, that's just the way it goes, you can't get around those - you can't move that boat on the trailer. On a hoist, you'll have full access to the boat.

Once you've scrubbed off one side of the boat, rinse, and repeat the procedure on the opposite side. Give it a very strong thorough rinse getting all the residual acid off the trailer as it can sometimes cause rust spots and corrode. Only use this muratic acid mix for boats that are extremely algae covered, heavy in barnacles, and other growth associated with long-term in-water moorage. Often times you can use Slimy grimy and hot water or Starbrite's buffered acid will work just fine for cleaning a mildly dirty boat bottom. For cleaning diesel soot found around the transom, aft deck ceiling and along the water line around exhausts, but not bottom paint, you can use Meguiar's #50 first, then proceed with compound Monster Agua-Blue 200, Maguire's #44 or #49 if this doesn't work.

If you are cleaning along the waterline and boat bottom that is not painted, you will want to reach for the bottle of On/Off by Maritime Products Company. You will remove all barnacles, moss growth and browning incredibly fast. Don't get this stuff on your hands or on any bottom paint as it will streak the paint and will burn your hands. This is corrosive, but will not harm gel coat and neutralizes with water. Don't get it on the trailer, it will streak and etch it. It is an oxcillic acid mix and is available at West Marine stores. If you are a contractor and doing this for a living the pricing usually goes from $3.00 to $4.50 a foot. Again, market conditions in your area may be a little more or a little less. You can adjust to fit those market conditions.

The Marina-Tec boat wash system is great. If you are contractor and have lots of work you may want to consider leasing a location to wash boat bottoms. GMBH & Co. has a hull-leaning machine that uses two brushes that rotate horizontally along the hull and two brushes that rotate vertically at the heel. It is an automated system and does not use toxic chemicals. It is similar to an automatic car wash only for boats in the water.

Do it right the first time, do it efficiently and think about it.

Golf Competition Formats Explained

Unlike many other games Golf has the provision to decide how the golf players participating in a golf tournament are being scored. This practically leads to lots and lots of golf competition formats and choosing the right golf competition format among the available golf competition formats or inventing a new golf competition format for a friendly game is purely subjective and open ended. There are many corporate golf tournaments and friendly golf matches where the participating golfers decide upon the golf competition format and have fun.

However in most situations golfers chose one of the most popular golf competition formats for their golf tournaments and this leaves a question on the golf competition formats that are actually popular and widely used. The most popular golf competition formats and the brief scoring mechanism while using each of these golf competition formats are given below. However stroke play and match play have not been listed below considering the fact that they are too broad to classify golf competition formats.

One of the most popular golf competition formats for team tournaments and competitions is scramble. Generally played in teams of two, three or four; the scramble format insists on team work and bases itself on the best shot played by a team. In other words, every one in the team plays the initial shot and the best shot is taken for the next stroke and so on. There are several variants of the scramble competition format including Florida scramble, Texas scramble, Ambrose, etc.

Best ball competition format on the other hand works in the reverse way. Each golf player in a team plays his strokes until putting and the lowest score among all golf players in a team is considered as the team score. So best ball golf competition format relies on the consistent performance of all members in the team as opposed to the scramble format where the best player in the team derives it forward.

An alternate shot is another interesting golf competition format that is played in teams of two. As the name implies the players in a team play alternate strokes and the team with the best score at the end wins. Alternate strokes golf competition format gives a perfect balance in team when one is a pro and the other golf player is an amateur thereby grooming up the participants who are in the learning phase.

Modified Stapleford is another popular golf competition format that is applicable both to teams and individuals. In this golf competition format, each hole is given something called a Stroke Index and the number of shots allowed for a player per hole depends on the handicap of the golf player and the stroke index of that hole. The lesser the number of shots taken (from the expected number of shots), the better is the score and the player with the highest score at the end wins the game. The internationals in one of the most famous elite tours - the US PGA tour uses this golf competition format.

Another interesting combination of features from these golf competition formats is the Chapman or the Pinehurst golf competition format. Here again 2 person teams participate and the swing is taken by both the team members individually and then the balls are interchanged for the second shot. From the third shot, the best ball of the two is chosen and the players play in alternates with the same ball until the ball is holed.

An altogether different approach is provided by the Bingo-Bango-Bongo golf competition format where three specific events fetch points to the golf players - being the first to reach the greens, being the player whose golf ball is closest to the hole in the subsequent stroke and the first one to pot the ball. This is a quite popular golf competition format used in many league and gold association tournaments.

Flags is yet another interesting variant in golf competition formats where every participant is given a specific number of strokes to play depending on the handicap (the relative rating as compared to a beginner) and the player who either puts or gets the farthest within the given set of strokes becomes the winner.

There are several other popular golf competition formats including the Lone Ranger format, the Peoria system and the Callaway system and as mentioned earlier the choice of the right competition format is always a matter of choice and it largely depends on the participating golfers.
