Art.jeger - Norwegian FAC Rangers

Artillery Jegers, often shortened to Artjegere, are specially trained FAC's. An Artjeger-patrol will largely operate independently and carry out missions behind enemy lines. While hiding, Artjegers obeserve enemy activity, lead land-based artillery, coastal artillery and aircrafts against ground targets. Infiltration takes place largely on foot and on skis, but also by helicopters, boats or snowmobiles. Organisation: Artillery Jeger patrols are part of the Localisation battery in Artilleribataljonen, located at Setermoen in Troms. Jegers are divided into two loops where the Alfa squad trains conscripts and Bravo squad is the standing professional squad with enlisted personnel.
